Nexus 4.8 Released

Nexus 4.8 has been released and is available through Online Update.  Highlights of the new release are:

  • The Nexus Home Page (first introduced in Nexus 4.7.01) brings you the latest news and updates straight from MBS, as well as easy links to helpful resources. Be sure to register on our all-new web site to access more information and to become part of the MBS community.
  • Nexus is now integrated with PayPros, our preferred provider for credit card and ACH processing. We will be in touch to demonstrate how you can save money on credit card fees and save time processing electronic payments in Nexus. (X-Charge integration remains functional for clients that wish to continue using it.)
  • A single item can now be cancelled from a contract. On the Contract Entry screen Contract Items tab, a Cancel Item button is now available when editing a contract. When pressed, the process is similar to cancelling a contract. To go along with this feature, item grids on the Contract Entry screen and Task Center contain color-coded columns for quantity fulfilled/cancelled. Please contact MBS Technical Support if you need assistance with this valuable new feature.
  • Nexus can now import people, property/ownership, services, and contracts from Excel spreadsheets. If you would like to use this feature, please contact MBS for instructions.

PRESS RELEASE: Cathy Knight Receives FoxPro Lifetime Achievement Award

Cathy Knight - FoxPro Lifetime Achievement Award

We at Memorial Business Systems are proud to announce that Cathy Knight has received the prestigious FoxPro Lifetime Achievement Award. Created in 2001 by Microsoft, this award recognizes individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the Visual FoxPro community. To date, this award has only been given to 14 people worldwide, making us all the more proud of Cathy’s achievement.

Cathy started developing software in high school over three decades ago and has never quit. She started applying that talent to MBS seven years ago accommodating the needs of new clients and carrying out custom development work for clients. MBS President Fred Miller said, “Cathy simply knows how to do software development; how to ask the right questions to develop the detailed understanding of what the customer wants. She is a thinker and a do-er.”

Over the course of her career she earned the Microsoft Visual FoxPro MVP Award eight years in a row. She also had the opportunity to work as a subcontractor onsite in Redmond with the Microsoft Fox Team in 2001. Cathy has not only written various articles for Fox magazines but has written a book, "The Visual FoxPro Report Writer: Pushing it to the Limit and Beyond", as well as co-authoring three others. Cathy participates in her local FoxPro user group and speaks at other user groups when time permits. She has spoken at numerous conferences in the U.S., Canada, and Germany.
